What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is only one of more than 87 cannabinoids currently identified in cannabis and is, after THC, the second most quantitatively present cannabinoid in marijuana. In light marijuana, legal hemp or legal herb whatever, the main cannabinoids are CBD and THC. While CBD is an active substance that does not produce any psychotropic effects, THC, on the contrary, is responsible for the psychotropic effects of hemp. Legal herb includes all marijuana varieties whose THC values are between 0.2% and 0.6%.
CBD intake has no psychotropic effect, on the contrary, according to ongoing treatments and certified studies it can bring benefits with regard to the treatment of various diseases such as epilepsy, detoxifying, antidepressant, neuro-protective and for many other medical uses. It is not a psychoactive substance and can be taken safely. CBD is also instrumental in enhancing the analgesic properties of THC by prolonging its duration of action. It is extracted from hemp and found on the market in the form of oil, also suitable for cosmetic or food use.
How Take CBD
Today CBD can be purchased in a wide variety of formats from refined oil from cannabis to skin conditioner and therefore its use is intended for a wide range of diseases.
The most effective method for taking it is in sublingual drops or sprays, which have an effect in about 20 to 30 minutes. Being a natural product, the recommended dose varies from person to person, in some cases only 5mg is needed, in others even 100mg is needed four times a day, depending on the reason for use.
An example of the most commonly used dosages can be summarized as follows:
From 0.5 to 20 mg of CBD per day (CBD/dose/day) is a microdose that many users take:
sleep disorders such as insomnia
migraine and other types of headaches
mood swings, nausea or menopausal symptoms
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
10mg to 100mg of CBD/dose per day for the following conditions:
Arthritis in different forms
- chronic pain
- Lyme Autoimmunimalattia
- multiple fibromyalgiasclerosis
- Crohn's disease
IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
In all cases it is always advisable to start gradually, with constancy and be patient finding the ideal dose for your needs and according to your physical constitution and type of disease to be resolved perhaps by consulting your doctor.
In summary, decide how to take CBD. Do not take too much CBD, it is important to note that in cannabis therapy often you do not get the desired results from a high dose, you should consider lowering the dosage instead of increasing it. Remember that you can adjust the dosage from time to time, monitoring the results and adjusting the doses as needed.
Benefits of CBD
1. DOES NOT REQUIRE A MEDICAL PRESCRIPTION
CBD is legal and does not require a medical prescription in almost all of Europe and can be purchased in the form of CBD oil, ointments for topical use and more. CBD oils are very easy to take and dose. Just make sure you buy products that are properly purified and free of chemicals. CBD oils are extracted from hemp flowers without the use of solvents, through careful processes that remove plant impurities, additives and any other contaminants.
One of the most interesting and encouraging fields of research on CBD is the effectiveness of CBD in reducing cancer and inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells. Cannabinoids bind to the receptors of our endocannabinoid system to hinder the formation of tumour metastases, inhibiting the possible growth of the tumour and limiting the migration of tumour cells into the body.
The potential applications of cannabis for cancer patients are now known and scientifically proven, cannabinoids also have the ability to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy, reducing pain and vomiting.
Although CBD is known for its calming effects, it also offers energising properties that regenerate energy and restore strength. The ability of cannabidiol to strengthen the cells of the human body, contributing to their proper regeneration. In addition, CBD is also an excellent antioxidant that promotes the sense of wakefulness not inhibited by the presence of free radicals. According to a study published in 2008, cannabidiol has powerful antioxidant properties, even superior to those of vitamins C and E.
Hemp and CBD contain several beneficial anti-inflammatory components that help inhibit lipid synthesis. CBD, in fact, acts on the human sebaceous glands, producing a "triple" anti-acne action on skin cells. Cannabidiol has the ability to naturally suppress cell proliferation.
Several documents on the anticonvulsant properties of CBD have recently been reported. According to the data and evidence collected, this cannabinoid would be very effective in therapies to treat certain forms of childhood epilepsy, including Dravet's syndrome. Although limited to several anecdotal testimonies, the progress made in this field seems rather promising. Marijuana varieties with high CBD and low THC content would appear to be very effective in reducing seizures.
Charlotte Figi, a six-year-old girl with a debilitating form of epilepsy, was forced to face repeated seizures. Her parents were desperate and no longer knowing how to alleviate her problems, they tried cannabidiol, bringing the seizures to three per month. It might seem like a miracle, but stories about the effectiveness of CBD against epilepsy are increasingly common.
One of the worst feelings you can experience is nausea, which can often degenerate into vomiting. CBD oils can easily reduce this disorder by effectively treating rejection symptoms. CBD oils are easily digestible, contain no chemicals and do not release the unpleasant flavors of normal antiemetic drugs, rich in antacids and bismuth.
In addition to relieving anxiety disorders, CBD also acts as an antipsychotic. Some scientific evidence suggests that cannabidiol may help to treat schizophrenia and other mental health problems, such as bipolar disorder. Although THC itself is not capable of generating mental illness, it can simulate acute psychotic symptoms in some people. This shows how important the action of CBD is when taking high concentrations of THC. Although THC has beneficial properties for our health, its therapeutic efficacy is greatly enhanced by the presence of CBD, which reduces the possible onset of side effects related to the psychotropic effects of the psychoactive cannabinoid.
8.OBSESSIVE DISORDER AND POST TRAUMATIC DISORDER.
CBD has been shown in recent years to mitigate the symptoms associated with two forms of anxiety: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCDD). According to several studies, TDPS is generated by a deficiency of anandamide in the human endocannabinoid system. There is therefore a close relationship between cannabinoids and symptoms related to anxiety disorders, such as social anxiety. Patients with DOC can relieve and treat mental and physical compulsions by taking Cannabis varieties with high CBD and low THC content.
9.REDUCES PAIN AND INFLAMMATION
Despite giant strides in cannabidiol research, the international medical community has not yet fully recognised and accepted the therapeutic properties of cannabinoids. According to a study published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine in 2012, CBD has the ability to suppress chronic inflammatory pain in rodents. According to various testimonials from medical cannabis users, CBD-based dietary supplements are very effective in reducing inflammatory symptoms associated with chronic pain.
Cannabinoids, such as CBD, can reduce pain by acting on the endocannabinoid system in the human body. Cannabinoids bind to our receptors and stimulate responses in different areas of the body, favouring different beneficial neurological mechanisms. Laboratory tests have confirmed that CBD acts on the CB1 receptor, generating analgesic effects.
10. CBD BUFFER THE EFFECTS OF THC
CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, i.e. it does not cause the so-called "high" associated with cannabis. As many marijuana users will already know, THC tends to cause various psychotropic effects when consumed and can generate moments of anxiety, paranoia and panic when taken in large quantities. However, CBD has the ability to counter the anxiety symptoms induced by THC, generating sedative effects that reduce some of the negative consequences of this psychoactive cannabinoid, such as tremors and an accelerated heartbeat. CBD and THC are more effective when acting together than when taken separately in their isolated forms.
